Smart Construction S.A., a trusted construction company based in Chania, Crete, successfully completed the Demonstration Project for Energy Saving at the Hellenic Police building, located at 23 Irakleiou Avenue in Chania. Awarded in August 2022 and completed in May 2023, this public sector project with a contract value of €780,599.34 showcases Smart Con’s expertise in energy-efficient construction and the renovation of critical government infrastructure.
As a demonstration project, this initiative served a dual purpose: delivering measurable energy savings at a prominent public building while setting a replicable model for sustainable retrofitting of government facilities across Greece. The works focused on improving the building’s overall energy performance through targeted interventions including thermal insulation upgrades, replacement of openings with high-efficiency windows and doors, modernization of HVAC systems, and energy-efficient lighting solutions — all carried out in full compliance with Greek and EU energy performance regulations.
