Smart Construction S.A., a leading construction company based in Chania, Crete, successfully completed the formation and organization of population shelters for the Municipality of Chania, designed to provide safe gathering points for residents in the event of an earthquake. Awarded in July 2020 and completed in January 2021, this civil protection project with a contract value of €194,589.99 underlines Smart Con’s role not only as a builder of infrastructure, but as an active contributor to the safety and resilience of the communities it serves.
The project involved the upgrade and configuration of designated urban parks and open public spaces across Chania to function as organized emergency shelters.
