Smart Construction S.A., a leading construction company based in Chania, Crete, successfully completed the energy upgrade of the Nautical Sports Center of Souda in Kato Souda, within the Municipality of Chania. Awarded in July 2022 and delivered on schedule in June 2023, this public project with a contract value of €747,390.21 reflects Smart Con’s commitment to sustainable construction and the modernization of public infrastructure across Crete.
The project involved a comprehensive energy renovation designed to significantly reduce the facility’s energy consumption and bring it up to modern performance standards. Works included thermal insulation improvements, replacement of openings with high-performance windows and doors, HVAC system upgrades, and the installation of modern LED lighting throughout — transforming the center into a more sustainable and cost-efficient facility aligned with European and Greek green building standards.
Carried out in full compliance with Greek national legislation and EU regulations on energy performance in buildings, the project was delivered in close coordination with the Municipality of Chania. This is yet another example of Smart Con’s expertise in public works construction and its dedication to improving sustainability and quality of life across the Chania region.
